The Minnesota House on a vote of 90-to-38 passed a bill this afternoon to line up the state’s tax code with federal changes, but Democrats say it benefits businesses and the wealthy more than working families. Republicans respond 2.1 million Minnesotans will receive tax cuts and beyond that, says Greenfield Representative Jerry Hertaus, “We’re trying to incentivize work. We trying to incentivize investment, to make Minnesota more competitive.” Eagan Democrat Sandra Masin responds, “We’re not doing anything about the income gap. You’re just trying to get more and more money to the fewer and fewer people. How does that help our country?”
