The Minnesota House votes this afternoon on putting a proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot this fall, which would dedicate the state sales tax on auto repairs to roads and bridges. Blue Earth County Commissioner Vance Stuehrenberg says, give voters the choice: “I believe if you give it to ’em, they’ll make a good decision and we will pass this constitutional amendment.”
The bill will likely pass the Minnesota House but support is reportedly shakey in the Senate. Opponents warn it would pull money away from education and other important state programs.
