A bill establishing statewide regulations and clarifying that so-called “fantasy sports” is *not* illegal was soundly defeated (48-74) in the Minnesota House today over the arguments of sponsor, Prior Lake Republican Tony Albright, who says it “provides guidelines, nothing more. It’s not an expansion.” But Mazeppa Republican Steve Drazkowski says the bill has no support among his constituents. He says the bill is “moneyed interests bringing this forward to support their future, and they’re gonna fence out everybody else.” Drazkowski says the 15-hundred-dollar license fee will keep out ma-and-pa businesses.
