Law enforcement is cracking down on speeders statewide in a new campaign announced today. Speed was a factor in 92 fatal crashes on Minnesota roads in 2016. And Department of Public Safety spokesman Bruce Gordon says people who speed even a little can cause tragedy on the roads and adds “they think they’re not harming anybody or causing problems, when in fact, the reaction time that they have to respond to any incident or any kind of problem in the road goes down substantially even when they exceed the limit by 5 or 10 miles an hour.” The stepped up enforcement campaign begins Friday and runs through July 23rd.
