The Whipple Federal Building at Fort Snelling, site of many immigration hearings, is where over a dozen state lawmakers gather outside tonight (Fri 7-9pm) to protest the Trump administration’s immigration policies. Minneapolis Senator Patricia Torres Ray says most concerning is how much money has been approved to expand detention facilities at the U-S southern border. She notes “conditions that the people are facing right now, obviously from a human perspective, from a human rights perspective,… some people are making money out of this issue.”
Tonight’s event at Fort Snelling is part of a national “Lights for Liberty” vigil.
