The Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) is planning a protest march tonight (6pm) at the State Capitol over a lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), rising COVID-19 patient levels and the resumption of elective surgeries. MNA President Mary Turner says “right from the beginning our protection has been compromised. This should be an outcry for all nurses as to how our hospitals are taking our safety so lightly and we just need to fight back .” And Turner contends that almost immediately “the CDC backed down from optimum personal protective equipment standards down to mass casualty or whatever you want to call it standards and they did it within a week and it was mind-blowing how fast they backed down.” Turner says protestors tonight will be practicing social distancing during the march.
