A “landmark” moment.
That’s what Carleton College political analyst Steven Schier calls last night’s Democratic nomination of Hillary Clinton for president. Schier says “it’s been a long-time coming–it’s interesting to note that one of the delegates at the convention is a 102-year-old woman who was born before women had the right to vote so that illustrates the long trajectory women have had.”
And Schier says Clinton will likely not be the last female nominated for president. He expects it will become a more frequent event in the coming years.
