Donald Trump is drawing sharp criticism–including from leaders in the Republican party–for his response to the Muslim American parents of a soldier killed in Iraq.
But Hamline University political analyst David Schultz says “I think it’s too soon to tell whether or not this is the straw that broke the camel’s back and it may just very well be that there’s nothing he can say that will hijack his campaign because for those people who are his supporters, they’ve already made up their mind, for those that oppose him, they’ve already made up their mind.”
The soldier’s father (Khizr Khan) spoke at last week’s Democratic National Convention and Trump has since claimed the speech was a vicious attack on him and asked “am I not allowed to respond?”
