The resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn is prompting a closer look at how the young Trump administration operates. But it remains to be seen how far that scrutiny will go or what form it may take. Carleton College political analyst Steven Schier says “if Democrats were in control of Congress, they would be launching Benghazi-style investigations into General Flynn’s behavior, but it probably won’t come to that level of scrutiny because Republicans are in charge in Congress.” Schier does say, however, further investigation is required because of the possibility that something illegal may have occurred.
Flynn resigned last night as questions surfaced about his talks with the Russian ambassador before Trump took office.
