At least 48 volunteers from Minnesota have been deployed to offer aid in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. Carrie Carlson-Guest with the American Red Cross says the volunteers are helping people find shelter and are “making sure that they’ve got a safe place to evacuate to, as the storm comes ashore, in health services, we have nurses that are there helping people replace medications.” The volunteers are also providing spiritual and I-T assistance. Carlson-Guest says the aid effort will likely last for months. If you’d like to donate $10 to help in the aid effort, text “DORIAN” to 90999.
