Twelve American Red Cross volunteers from Minnesota are heading to Florida to assist in the aid effort as Hurricane Dorian hits. Spokesman Jason Bengston says the volunteers “will primarily be working in emergency shelters where they’ll be helping those who are displaced by the storm making sure that they have a safe place to stay.” Bengston says as many 50,000 people could be impacted by the storm. He says more volunteers will be deployed when the storm makes landfall. If you want to help in the aid effort, you can text “DORIAN” to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Or click here.
