Republicans in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District meet today in Apple Valley to choose their candidate for Congress. Five candidates are vying to carry their party’s banner in the coming campaign, after Republican Congressman John Kline announced he’s not running for re-election. They are: Engineer David Gerson, former state Senator John Howe, radio talk show host Jason Lewis, manufacturing company president and C-E-O Darlene Miller, and perennial candidate Gene Rechtzigel. Democrats are hoping to grab what is the only open seat for Congress in Minnesota this fall. Their candidate is medical company executive Angie Craig.
