So-called “revenge porn” on the Internet would be a crime and a victim could also sue for damages, under a bill that passed the Minnesota Senate today. Columbia Heights Democrat Barb Goodwin says Minnesota doesn’t currently have a law covering that area and, if an injured party tries to sue they won’t have any luck. But the Senate said “no” to tougher penalties for someone who either disseminates revenge porn for profit or uses a website or mobile app to disseminate it.
