Sen. John Jasinski (R-Faribault)
Republicans in the Minnesota Senate are moving forward with part of their plan for long-term transportation funding. They passed a bill in committee Wednesday that would put sales taxes on motor vehicle replacement parts into dedicated fund. Faribault Senator John Jasinski says, “This may be a good positive outcome to fund our roads and bridges. I think it’s giving us some compromise and I think it’s probably one of the biggest things we’ve looked at is funding our roads and bridges long-term.” Minneapolis Democrat Scott Dibble is leery because the measure not part of a larger package to fully fund transportation needs. And Dibble asks, what other areas of the state budget will suffer?
