Minnesota Senate Republicans say they’ll oppose Governor Tim Walz who plans to establish new regulations to encourage more low- and zero-emission vehicles in Minnesota. Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says, “I can tell you Senate Republicans will not stand for it. We have the majority in the Senate and we will absolutely push back.” Gazelka says Walz’s plan is government telling people what to do.
Governor Walz responds about President Trump’s push to ban states from setting their own vehicle emission standards, “They will not win in court…. The only people happy about the decision that they made were the oil companies.”
