It’s finally here–day one of the Minnesota State Fair. Fair spokeswoman Danielle Dullinger says the number one thing on her mind is “food personally, honestly, I’m excited to try all the food. We’ve been seeing them all get set up for the past couple days, so I’m excited it’s finally here, we can all go get our pronto pups, we can all get our corn, we can get all the things we’ve had to wait a year to get.” Dullinger says food is a 40-million-dollar-plus business at the fair. And Dullinger says if that stat isn’t impressive enough–try this: fair guests at the Minnesota State Fair consume 35 miles of hot dogs every year, the corn roast sells 25 acres of corn and Sweet Martha’s makes about 3 million cookies every single day.
