It’s looking like last year was the last year for the Original Cheese Curd stand at the Minnesota State Fair. 80-year-old owner Dick Mueller is hanging up the deep fryer and fair officials are exploring other options for the building. State Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer says Mueller’s son submitted an application to take over, but the fair decided to move in a different direction. Hammer says there will still be plenty of cheese curd options at this year’s fair. The Original Cheese Curd stand has been at the Great Minnesota Get Together for 42 years.
