MN think-tank atty says state agencies must immediately stop collecting “fair share” union dues

June 27, 2018 By Bill Werner

Kim Crockett, lead attorney for Minnesota-based Center of the American Experiment — a conservative think-tank — contends because of today’s U-S Supreme Court decision on “fair share” union dues, “Public employers in Minnesota… must immediately stop deducting agency fees from public employees (paychecks), because they have not received an affirmative consent from those employees to deduct them.”

State Management and Budget Commissioner Myron Frans (FRANZ) says his department is reviewing the high court’s ruling and “will take any necessary steps to ensure Minnesota is in full compliance with the law.” Frans’ boss, Governor Mark Dayton, calls the Supreme Court’s decision “just the kind of terrible ‘Judicial Activism’ which some Justices profess to deplore.”
