(Denver, CO) — The Minnesota Twins launched four home runs during a 7-1 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Royce Lewis hit a pair of solo shots in the victory, while Matt Wallner and Harrison Bader also went deep. Joe Ryan earned his tenth win after striking out 11 Rockies hitters and holding Colorado to one run on five hits in seven innings. The Twins avoided being swept with the victory. Mickey Moniak homered in the losing effort, and German Marquez was charged with his 11th loss after surrendering three runs on four hits in three innings. The Rockies are an MLB-worst 24-75. The Twins improved to 48-51 and are in third-place in the A-L Central. Minnesota starts a three-game road series at the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight.

(Louisville, KY) — The Triple-A St. Paul Saints scored three runs in the top of the eighth during a 6-1 victory over the Louisville Bats at Louisville Slugger Field yesterday. Ryan Fitzgerald and Jose Miranda both homered in the victory, while Cory Lewis picked up his second win in relief. The 44-50 Saints are off tonight and will host the Worcester Red Sox tomorrow.

(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings training camp is officially underway. Minnesota’s rookies, quarterbacks and other select players reported to T-C-O Performance Center yesterday. A total of 40 players were on site to start camp yesterday. The rest of the veterans will report tomorrow with the first full squad workout set for Wednesday in Eagan. The Purple are looking to build upon a 14-3 season that ended in an N-F-C Wild Card loss last year. Minnesota opens the preseason slate with a Saturday, August 9th at home against Houston. There will be three exhibition games before the regular season starts Monday, September 8th at Chicago. Here is the 2025 Minnesota Vikings season schedule:

>>Gopher Football Prepping For Fall Camp

(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota football team will begin fall camp late next week as they begin to dial in for the 2025 season. Several Golden Gophers will leave for Big Ten Football Media Days tomorrow, where they will make appearances in Las Vegas on Wednesday. The four players involved with that include safety Koi Perich of Esko, defensive end Anthony Smith, running back Darius Taylor, quarterback Drake Lindsey. Head coach P-J Fleck will also meet with reporters on Wednesday in Vegas. Minnesota is trying build on last year’s record when it finished 8-5 overall and had a bowl game win over Virginia Tech. The Gophers open the season on Thursday night, August 28th against Buffalo at Huntington Bank Stadium.

(Indianapolis, IN) — Minnesota Lynx star forward Napheesa Collier had a dominant All-Star weekend in Indianapolis. Collier won the W-N-B-A All-Star Game M-V-P after scoring a record 36 points in Team Collier’s 151-131 victory over Team Clark on Saturday night. Collier and the Lynx return to action with a home game against the Chicago Sky tomorrow night at the Target Center at 7 P-M.

>>Timberwolves Fall To Houston On Saturday

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Timberwolves wrapped up N-B-A Las Vegas Summer League season with a 104-101 loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday. The Wolves blew a 17-point lead in the losing effort. Tristen Newton led Minnesota with 24 points and ten rebounds, while Jesse Edwards chipped in with 18. Minnesota was playing without many of its top Summer League performers, including T-J Shannon and Rob Dillingham. The T-Wolves finished with a 4-1 record in Summer League this year.

>>United Draw Portland

(Portland, OR) — The Minnesota United picked up a point with a 1-1 draw against the Portland Timbers at Providence Park on Saturday. Anthony Markanich scored in the 77th minute to give Minnesota a late lead, but the Loons surrendered a goal in the second minute of stoppage time. The United are in third place in the Western Conference with 41 points. They visit St. Louis on Saturday.

>>Former Gopher Contends For P-G-A Tour Win

(Truckee, California) — Ryan Gerard claimed the P-G-A Tour’s Barracuda Championship in California yesterday, narrowly beating former Gopher golfer Erik van Rooyen, who was in search of his third career win. Gerard finished with a plus-47, while van Royen was plus-44 in a tourney that uses the modified Stableford scoring system. It was Gerard’s first win. Stillwater native Frankie Capan III missed the cut.

(Portrush, Northern Ireland) — Scottie Scheffler continues to add to his resume after winning The Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. Scheffler finished atop the leaderboard at 17 under par to win the tournament by four strokes. He is the first player during the modern major championship era to win his first four majors by three or more strokes. Harris English finished in second at 13 under. Chris Gotterup was third at 12 under par. Fargo’s Tom Hoge missed the cut.

>>Full Field Set for 3-M Open In Minnesota

(Blaine, MN) — The full field is now set for the 3-M Open, which takes center stage this week. Among the 156 golfers in the field are last year’s champion, Jhonattan Vegas. Other golfers will include Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Ricky Fowler, Zach Johnson and Adam Scott. Prior champions Tony Finau and Cameron Champ will also be part of the field. The tournament will start on Thursday and continue through Sunday at the T-P-C Twin Cities course in Blaine.

>>Denny Hamlin Wins Dover

(Dover, DE) — Denny Hamlin outlasted the NASCAR Cup Series field from rainy Delaware to take home the checkered flag in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400. The driver of the Number-11 car held off Chase Briscoe at Dover Motor Speedway. Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top-five finishers. Gibbs will battle Ty Dillon in the final of the In-Season Challenge next Sunday as part of the Brickyard in Indianapolis.
