(Denver, CO) — The Minnesota Twins returned from the All-Star Break last night with a 6-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Minnesota fell behind 5-0 after two innings. A solo homer from Byron Buxton and a three-run homer from Willi Castro closed the gap to 6-4 in the seventh inning. The Twins got a baserunner on with one out in the eighth but a double play ended the inning, and Minnesota went down in order in the ninth. Starter Chris Paddack gave up five runs on eight hits in five innings pitched. It’s just the 23rd win for the Rockies, who are a Major-League-worst 23-74. The Twins fall to 47-50. The teams play again tonight in Denver, with Simeon Woods Richardson getting the start for the Twins. Two more games — today and tomorrow — remain against the Rockies, and then Minnesota heads to L-A for a three-game series with the Dodgers Monday through Wednesday. After a day off on Thursday, they’ll come home to Target Field to start a three-game series with Washington.

(Louisville, KY) — The St. Paul Saints beat Louisville last night, 3-1 at Louisville. Bailey Ober pitched four shutout innings and Carson McCusker hit a two-run homer as the Saints picked up the win in their first game after the All-Star Break. The teams are playing a three-game series, with the second game tonight at 6:15 with Marco Raya getting the start for St. Paul.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Three Minnesota Lynx players are set to play in tonight’s W-N-B-A All-Star Game. Napheesa Collier, Courtney Williams, and Kayla McBride are each on the roster, while Minnesota head coach Cheryl Reeve will coach one of the units. The W-N-B-A All-Star Game will be played tonight in Indianapolis at 7:30 P-M. Meanwhile, the Lynx regular season resumes on Tuesday with a game against Chicago at the Target Center at 7 P-M.

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Minnesota Timberwolves narrowly missed out on making the N-B-A Las Vegas Summer League’s four-team championship bracket after losing out on a point differential tie-breaker. The top four teams in the Summer League advance to the weekend tourney, but there were six teams with 4-0 marks, including the Wolves. So, Minnesota will take on Houston in a game this afternoon in Vegas. Toronto, Oklahoma City, Charlotte, and Sacramento are the teams in the championship bracket.

(Portland, OR) — The Minnesota United look to get back in the win column when they visit the Portland Timbers at Providence Park tonight. The Loons are coming off a 1-nil loss to LA-FC on Wednesday. Minnesota is in third place in the M-L-S Western Conference with 40 points. Portland is in sixth place with 33 points. Matchtime in Portland is at 9:30 tonight.

(Blaine, MN) — The full field is now set for the 3-M Open. Among the 156 golfers in the field are last year’s champion, Jhonattan Vegas. Other golfers will include Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns and Adam Scott. Prior champions Tony Finau and Cameron Champ will also be part of the field. Action starts on Monday and continues through next Sunday the 27th at T-P-C Twin Cities in Blaine.
