(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings fell to the bottom of the N-F-C North after a 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday at U-S Bank Stadium. The Purple surrendered a touchdown to give the Eagles a two-possession lead with six-and-a-half minutes left in regulation and couldn’t stop Philadelphia on the final drive. Carson Wentz had a pick-six in the game and finished with 313 yards and two interceptions. The Vikings dropped to 3-3 and now trail all three teams in the N-F-C North. They take on the Chargers this Thursday.

(Glendale, AZ) — Josh Jacobs scored a touchdown with 1:50 remaining to give the Packers a 27-23 road win over the Cardinals. Jacobs ran the ball 13 times for 55 yards and two scores for Green Bay. Jordan Love completed 19 of 29 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown to Tucker Kraft. Micah Parsons recorded three of his team’s six sacks in the victory. The Packers have won back-to-back games to improve to 4-1-and-1, first place in the N-F-C North. Jacoby Brissett threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns in his second start of the season. Trey McBride caught 10 balls for 79 yards and both scores. The Cardinals have lost five in a row to fall to 2-5.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Bears extended their winning streak after taking down the Saints 26-14 from Chicago. D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai combined for more than 200 rushing yards to go with a pair of touchdowns. Chicago has won four in-a-row after starting the season 0-and-2. Spencer Rattler threw two T-Ds and three picks for New Orleans, which has dropped two straight.

Meanwhile, the Bucs have won back to back games and lead the – -South at 5-1. Tampa Bay looks to get back Mike Evans, who has missed the last three games due to injury. Meanwhile, the week with the Seattle Seahawks hosting the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. The 4-2 Seahawks are coming off a win over the Jaguars. Cornerback Riq Woolen is expected to play after clearing concussion protocol. Houston has won back to back games and are 2-3. Wide receiver Christian Kirk remains out with a hamstring injury.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Gophers suffocated Nebraska’s offense during a 24-6 win from Huntington Bank Stadium on Friday. The Gophers held a one-point lead at halftime before outscoring the Cornhuskers 17-0 the rest of the way. Minnesota had a program record nine sacks in the victory and allowed just 213 yards of offense. Drake Lindsey passed for 153 yards and a score, while Darius Taylor added 148 yards rushing and a T-D on the ground. The Gophers improved to 3-1 in Big Ten play and 5-2 overall. >>Florida Football Fires Billy Napier
(Gainesville, FL) — Florida football is moving on from its head coach. The school fired Billy Napier on Sunday. The Gators improved to 3-4 following a 23-21 win over Mississippi State, but Napier had just a 22-and-23 record in four seasons with the program. Receivers coach Billy Gonzales will take over as interim head coach for Florida’s final five games of the regular season.

(Fort Collins, CO) — Colorado State is moving on from head football coach Jay Norvell midway through the 2025 season. The university has fired Norvell following a 2-and-5 start to the season. The 62-year-old Norvell was in the middle of his fourth season with the program and went a combined 18-and-26 while leading the Rams. Defensive coordinator Tyson Summers has been named the interim head coach and the school said that it will immediately begin the search for a new head coach. Norvell will be owed a 1.5-million-dollar buyout after inking a five-year deal in December 2021. Norvell played college football at the University of Iowa.

(Eugene, OR) — The Golden Gopher women’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw at Oregon yesterday. Each team registered 11 shots, as Minnesota goalkeeper Sarah Martin logged four saves in her fifth shutout of the season. The Gophers are now 6-7-and-3 overall and 2-5-and-3 in the Big Ten. The host Ducks are 2-10-and-5 overall and 0-6-and-4 in the conference. Minnesota will host Purdue on Sunday at 1 P-M.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The third-rated University of Minnesota women’s hockey team skated past number-two Ohio State yesterday at Ridder Arena 6-3. The Golden Gopher victory secured a split of the two-game weekend series. Minnesota forwards Josefin Bouveng and Nelli Laitinen each had a goal and two assists in the win. Goaltender Hannah Clark stopped 27 shots for Minnesota, which improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the W-C-H-A. The visiting Buckeyes dipped to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the league. There was a benches clearing brawl after time expired in the game that marred the weekend.

Joaquin Pereyra scored Minnesota’s only goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time. The Loons finished in fourth place in the M-L-S Western Conference with 58 points. They take on the Seattle Sounders in the first round of the playoffs next Monday.

(Toronto, ON) — The Blue Jays and Mariners are heading to Game Seven in the AL Championship Series. Toronto defeated Seattle 6-2 in Game Six at the Rogers Centre to force Game Seven. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his sixth homer of the postseason on a solo shot in the fifth inning, while Addison Barger went 2-for-3 with a home run and three R-B-I. Starting pitcher Trey Yesavage earned the win after tossing seven strikeouts through five-plus innings of two-run ball. The series is now tied 3-3. Josh Naylor homered for Seattle in the setback.
