(Chicago, IL) — The Minnesota Twins lost a Memorial Day matinee to the White Sox in Chicago yesterday 3-1. Minnesota outhit Chicago 7-6, but the Twins left 11 runners on base to dip to 26-28 on the year and see a four-game winning streak end. The White Sox got a solo home run from Munetaka Murakami in the first inning and a two-run shot from catcher Drew Romo in the second inning. Murakami has 18 round-trippers on the season. Twins shortstop Brooks Lee homered in the first inning to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead. Zebby Matthews worked six innings of five-hit, three-run ball and dropped to 1-2 this season. White Sox starting and winning pitcher Anthony Kay worked six innings of five-hit, one-run ball to move to 4-1 this year. Neither team scored a run after the second frame. Second-place Chicago improved to 27-26 on the season. Game two of the four-game series is tonight at 6:40 P-M.

(Louisville, KY) — The Triple-A St. Paul Saints were off last night and hit the road to begin a six-game series against the Louisville Bats at Louisville Slugger Field tonight in Kentucky. The Saints are in seventh place in the International League West division with a 25-25 record. John Klein takes the mound for St. Paul this evening. First pitch is slated for 5:35 P-M.

(Undated) — The N-C-A-A baseball tournament bracket was unveiled on Monday. U-C-L-A is the number-one overall seed after winning its first Big Ten tournament over the weekend. The Bruins are one of 16 teams that will host double-elimination regional rounds, which begin on Friday. The field will eventually be whittled down to the eight teams that will play in the College World Series, which begins June 12th in Omaha.
>>Gopher Track And Field In Action This Week
(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota men’s and women’s track and field teams will take part in the N-C-A-A Regionals this week in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In all, 40 events will be represented by Golden Gopher flavor, including 23 on the men’s side and 17 on the women’s side. The Gophers entries are highlighted by a pair of hammer throwers, who each have a legitimate chance to win a national title. Gopher women’s star Anthonett Nabwe (NOB-way) finished sixth in last year’s N-C-A-A Championship meet and has the best throw of the season in the nation this season. She has already won the indoor national title and the Big Ten outdoor title this year. Gopher men’s star Angelos Mantzouranis (AG-uh-lohs MON-zhoo-ronniss) won the Big Ten hammer throw this season and was second at the N-C-A-A Championships last season. In addition, the Gophers have several sprinters and jumpers who could advance this week. The competition starts tomorrow on the University of Arkansas campus and runs through Saturday. The top 12 finishers in each individual event and the top 12 teams from each relay event will move on to the N-C-A-A National Championship meet to be held June 10-13 at the University of Oregon. The Gopher men finished second at the 18-team Big Ten Championships two weeks ago, while the women were sixth.

(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings kick-off their first week of Organized Team Activities from T-C-O Performance Center today. The Vikings will have three weeks of optional practices during the offseason ahead of mandatory minicamp in June. The Purple will hold practices today, tomorrow, and on Thursday this week. Select players are scheduled to speak to reporters tomorrow.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Lynx return home to entertain the Atlanta Dream tomorrow night at the Target Center. The 4-2 Lynx are coming off of Saturday’s 85-75 win at Chicago. The 4-1 Dream have won two straight contests after Sunday’s 82-80 win over Phoenix. The Mercury beat the Lynx 91-90 back on May 9th. Tomorrow’s tip time is 8 P-M in downtown Minneapolis.

The New York Knicks trampled the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93 in Game Four to complete the sweep and lock up their spot in the Finals for the first time since 1999. Playoff action continues Tuesday, with the Oklahoma City Thunder hosting the San Antonio Spurs in Game Five of the Western Conference Finals. The best-of-seven series is tied up at two wins apiece.

(Undated) — The Carolina Hurricanes have back-to-back overtime victories in the Eastern Conference Final after outlasting the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in Game Three from Montreal. Carolina now leads the best-of-seven series 2-1 and will visit the Habs for Game Four on Wednesday. Out west the Vegas Golden Knights are looking to advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the third time in franchise history. The Golden Knights are leading the Western Conference Final 3-0 entering Game Four against the Colorado Avalanche.

(Undated) — The second day of action at the French Open has concluded. Fifth-seeded American Ben Shelton and eighth-seeded Alex de Minaur each picked up three-set wins to advance to the second round on the men’s side. Other Americans advancing are 19-seed Frances Tiafoe, 24-seed Tommy Paul, 31-seed Brandon Nakashima, and Alex Michelsen. On the women’s side, two-seed Elena Rybakina, three-seed Iga Swiatek, and sixth-seeded American Amanda Anisimova advanced. Other American women to punch their ticket into the second round were Alycia Parks and McCartney Kessler. The action at Roland Garros continues on Tuesday.
