No Vikings players missed practice with injuries yesterday, but second-year quarterback J-J McCarthy was one of five players who were limited participants. Quarterback Carson Wentz was a full participant in the workout as he’s working through some shoulder soreness in his non-throwing side. Head coach Kevin O’Connell has not named a starting Q-B yet. Linebacker Blake Cashman was a full participant in his first practice since the team opened up his practice window after he spent the last four games on short-term injured reserve. Minnesota hosts Philadelphia on Sunday at noon at U-S Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis.

(Glendale, AZ) — The Green Bay Packers will be on the road this weekend. Green Bay is heading west to face the Cardinals on Sunday. The Packers have won their last two matchups with Arizona. Two other players were listed as full participants in the practice. Chicago hosts New Orleans on Sunday.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher football team is a day away from hosting 25th-ranked Nebraska in a prime time Friday night game at Huntington Bank Stadium. Minnesota enters tomorrow’s game with a 4-2 overall record and 2-1 in the Big Ten. The visiting Cornhuskers are 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the league. Gopher senior linebacker Devin Williams says the Nebraska offense can put up some points so there has been an emphasis put on tackling this week in practice. Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 7:05 P-M.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota men’s basketball team hosts an exhibition game tonight at Williams Arena against North Dakota State. New N-C-A-A implemented for this season allow fans to attend these type of scrimmages, which used to be closed to the public. U of M students get into the game for free, while general fans can buy tickets for as little as 13-dollars for the game tonight. Golden Gopher head coach Niko Medved says tonight should be a good learning experience for his new-look team, which includes 13 new players. He cautions fans should not read to much into results or box scores with tonight’s scrimmage because both coaches will be experimenting with lineups and rotations.

(Chicago, IL) — The Minnesota Timberwolves play their penultimate game of the preseason slate when they visit the Chicago Bulls at United Center tonight. The Wolves are coming off a 100-95 overtime loss to the Knicks on the road last Thursday and a 60-point victory over the Guangzhou Loong-Lions on Tuesday in Minneapolis. Wolves head coach Chris Finch says his team needs to start dialing in its focus as the regular season approaches. Tonight’s game tips off at 7 P-M.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The list of candidates to become the next Minnesota Twins manager is growing. The Athletic is reporting that the team is interested in interviewing Nick Punto. Punto played with the Twins from 2004 until 2010. He spent last season as the bench coach of the San Diego Padres. The next Twins manager will replace Rocco Baldelli, who was fired by the team following the 2025 regular season. In other team news, the Twins claimed Pittsburgh infielder Ryan Kreidler off of waivers. He spent this past season playing for Detroit.

More than 400,000 hunters are anticipated to don blaze orange when the season opens on November 8th, with many areas offering strong chances for a successful harvest. Deer populations in central Minnesota are especially robust, thanks to a productive season and a mild winter. Populations are also thriving in southern Minnesota and remain solid in the northwest. However, northeastern Minnesota continues to experience lower deer numbers, and hunters in that region may face more limited opportunities.
