Governor Mark Dayton and Democrats are taking heat after this morning’s (Tues) rough start to the new open enrollment period on the MNsure health insurance exchange. The governor says robocalls were responsible for call backups. Minnesota Jobs Coalition President Kevin Magnuson responds:
Magnuson says the governor and lawmakers need to start from scratch and rebuild Minnesota’s health insurance system from the ground up. As of 1pm this afternoon, nearly 15-thousand people had begun the application process.
Meanwhile, Governor Dayton met with House Speaker Kurt Daudt this morning to address health insurance premium hikes in Minnesota. Dayton proposes rebates for those hit with large health insurance premium increases until lawmakers can address the larger issues.
Speaker Daudt:
It’s still not clear if Republicans agree that rebates are the right fix for the problem.
