A teenager from Burnsville died after being found unresponsive by police in a dormitory on the North Dakota State University campus. There were no signs of foul play but authorities have not yet determined a cause of death. The teen was not an NDSU student.
Following a 16-hour search, authorities have found a missing man in southern Minnesota. 80-year old Charles Armstrong was last heard from on Saturday when he called a family member in a confused state. Armstrong, who lives in an assisted care facility in Kenyon, was said to be alert but was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.
The family of a Grand Forks woman whose body was found in the Red River near Oslo in June, says they will hold a private memorial service sometime soon. The body was identified as that of Shirley Whetters, who was last seen 33 years ago. Whetters was 48 years old when she disappeared in 1984. Authorities say there was no foul play.
Three jars of soil from Duluth are on their way to Montgomery, Alabama to be part of a new national lynchings memorial. Community leaders gathered soil from the Clayton Jackson McGhie memorial which was built after three circus performers were wrongfully convicted for raping a white girl and then hanged by a mob in 1920.
The Minnesota Lynx are in the WNBA Finals once again, thanks to a sweep of the Mystics. Maya Moore had 21 points and Sylvia Fowles added 17 plus 14 rebounds as the Lynx beat Washington 81-70. They will host the L-A Sparks on Saturday – in a rematch of last year’s WNBA Final.
