Montrose man found clinging to life Sunday morning

August 30, 2016 By Tasha Redel

Wright County authorities are investigating the death of an 18-year-old Montrose man.

Sheriff Joe Hagerty says they received a report of an unconscious male lying in the roadway in the 500 block of 1st Street North in Montrose at 2:28 am on Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Justin Harvey from Montrose.

The preliminary investigation indicated Harvey approached a pickup truck parked on the roadway and became involved in a confrontation with a passenger still seated in the vehicle. The vehicle accelerated during the confrontation dragging Harvey a short distance.

Harvey was treated at the scene by deputies, Montrose Rescue workers and Ridgeview Ambulance prior to being transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.

Two adults were arrested and booked into the Wright County Jail on Criminal Vehicular Operations and Simple Robbery charges.
