Sheriff’s officials in Moorhead are expecting delivery this week on a five-thousand-dollar drone which will mainly be used for search-and-rescue missions. Emergency Manager Bryan Green says cameras on the latest drones are amazing. He says the operator can go off the GIS system to fly it, and do a grid search pretty easily on a section of corn where a person is missing or lost. Green hopes the drone will be certified to fly by spring. It will be available to emergency responders in several surrounding counties.
