A federal court ordered Lindell to pay 2.3 million dollars for defaming Dominion Voting Systems with false claims about the election. He finished third in the Republican Party of Minnesota’s gubernatorial straw poll.

(North Mankato, MN) — State Senator Nick Frentz of North Mankato is running for re-election in District 18. He will be seeking his fourth term in the Minnesota Senate. Frentz is chair of the Energy Committee and vice chair of the Finance Committee in addition to being the D-F-L assistant majority leader. Frentz says his platform will continue to include fighting for quality education, good jobs, and safe transportation. Frentz was first elected in 2016.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Department of Homeland Security confirms that an ICE agent fired shots at an illegal immigrant from Cuba Sunday in St. Paul. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that Juan Carlos Rodrigues Romero refused to comply with officers during a traffic stop and struck one of the agents trying to flee. Romero pulled into a parking lot and rammed his car into an ICE vehicle and struck another officer. That officer fired two rounds, causing Romero to drive off again. He tried to run into his apartment but was taken to the ground by ICE agents and bit one of the officers. Romero and the officers were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota B-C-A is investigating after St. Paul police shot a man during a stolen vehicle stop Sunday afternoon. Officials say G-M remotely disabled the car on the Interstate-94 ramp from Highway 52. The man fled on foot, pointed a gun at officers, and was shot in the leg. Investigators say he’s hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A female passenger was arrested. No one else was hurt. All officers had body cameras activated.

(Frazee, MN) — Authorities in Becker County continue to investigate a deadly weekend shooting in Frazee. Sheriff’s deputies found a 19-year-old man wounded early Saturday and he died of his injuries in the hospital. The victim has been identified as Bryson Andrew May of Frazee. Four suspects fled the scene in an S-U-V and were later caught by an Otter Tail County deputy near Perham. Investigators say a 19-year-old from New York Mills and a 16-year-old remain in custody.

(Anoka , MN) — Educators in Minnesota’s largest school district have voted to authorize a strike, though union leaders say they hope to avoid one. Anoka Hennepin Education Minnesota reports 98.5 percent of members approved a strike, citing stalled talks over health insurance costs and non-competitive pay. The district says negotiations are in mediation and the school board will meet today (Mon) to prepare for a possible strike.

(Duluth, MN) — Four people escaped a late-night house fire in Duluth, and firefighters rescued two cats from the basement. Crews responded to a home late Friday night, finding heavy flames on all sides of the house and garage. The roof collapseandd the structure sustained major fire and water damage. No injuries were reported, but four residents are displaced. The cause is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal.

(Princeton, MN) — Ruff Start Rescue in central Minnesota is in desperate need of fosters right now. Executive director Azure Davis says they have more than 160 cats and a hundred dogs but nowhere to put them. She says impounds are filling up and when they’re full, animals will have to be euthanized. Ruff Start will provide all the food and veterinary care to the fosters. (East Rutherford, NJ) — The Minnesota Vikings edged the New York Giants 16-13 at Met Life Stadium Sunday for their third straight win. J-J McCarthy threw for 108 yards and an interception, and ran for a touchdown, before leaving with a hand injury just before halftime. Back-up quarterback Max Brosmer led the Purple on the go-ahead field goal drive in the fourth quarter. Will Reichard made three kicks for Minnesota on Sunday. Aaron Jones had 85 yards on the ground and Justin Jefferson caught six passes for 85 yards. The Vikings host the Lions on Christmas Day.
