(Eagle Lake, MN) — A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the arm by his son in Blue Earth County Monday afternoon. Police were dispatched to Country Manor, a mobile home community in Eagle Lake where they found a 59-year-old man who had been shot. The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later airlifted for further treatment. Police say the man’s son is in custody. More information is expected to be released today.

(Litchfield, MN) — A Meeker County man makes his first court appearance today (Tues) for the alleged shooting death of his wife near Dassel. Prosecutors say 35-year-old Brian Demarais is facing one count of second-degree murder in the shooting of 29-year-old Kayla Demarais. Deputies say Brian called 9-1-1 last Thursday morning to report that he had shot his wife, and she was later found dead in their home. Two children who witnessed the incident were placed in protective custody.

(Various) — As Minnesota entered the new year, two children suffered gunshot wounds in separate incidents when unknown assailants fired into their homes in Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The first shooting was just before midnight in the capital city’s Frogtown neighborhood where a 10-year-old boy was hit in the stomach. He’s in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive. And just after midnight in north Minneapolis, an 11-year-old girl had a non-critical gunshot wound, authorities say from an errant bullet from outside the house. (Duluth, MN) — A Duluth snowplow ended on its side after the driver was unable to stop on a slippery road and slid into a car that was stopped at a stop sign. The two people in the car reported minor injuries and one was taken to a local hospital. It happened Sunday morning in a hilly area just northwest of downtown Duluth.

(Moorhead, MN) — Police in Moorhead are investigating a shooting late Sunday afternoon that sent a 17-year-old to the hospital. The person reportedly was shot in the leg but there’s no information on the victim’s condition. No weapon was found at the scene. Police say there’s no known threat to the general public.
