(St. Cloud, MN) — Republicans waited several hours outside in 90-degree heat Saturday to see former President Donald Trump and running mate J-D Vance at St. Cloud State University. Trump told the crowd inside the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, “in less than four months Minnesota is going to defeat Kamala Harris.” He added, “I’m telling you if we have an honest election, we’re gonna blow it out in Minnesota.” Roger traveled from Grey Eagle to attend the rally. He says, “I really feel that Donald Trump is the only person that is going to solve the problems that we have here, I wanted to show my support.” Some Trump supporters with tickets got shut out after waiting in line for hours. The last Republican presidential candidate to win Minnesota was Richard Nixon 52 years ago.

(Undated) — A law banning abortions at six weeks takes effect today (Mon) in Iowa and many women are expected to travel to Minnesota and other states for health care. Doctor Sarah Traxler of Planned Parenthood North Central States says, “we are taking a regional approach to best serve as many patients as possible. We invested in our border communities where abortion remains legal. We expanded our capacity at health centers in Mankato and Minneapolis as well as in Omaha.” Traxler says they planned for this moment and have navigators to help Iowa patients seek reproductive care in other states. Governor Kim Reynolds said in statement, “I remain deeply committed to supporting women in planning for motherhood, promoting the importance of fatherhood, elevating adoption, and protecting in vitro fertilization.”
>>Bicyclist Dies in Crash on Highway 55 in Wright County
(Maple Lake, MN) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Wright County Sunday night that left a bicyclist dead. The report says the bicycle rider and an S-U-V collided on Highway 55 near Maple Lake. Troopers say the 21-year-old Maple Lake man on the bike died at the scene. No word on whether the S-U-V driver was hurt. The roadway was wet at the time of the crash.

(Silver Bay, MN) — A man from Kandiyohi County is the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash on Highway 61 along Minnesota’s North Shore. The State Patrol says a cycle driven by 62-year-old Douglas Studanski of New London left the roadway Sunday near Silver Bay, went into the ditch and struck a road sign and a bush. The report says Studanski died at the scene and was wearing a helmet.

(Chisholm, MN) — Authorities say it appears speed and alcohol are contributing factors in a deadly A-T-V crash on the Iron Range. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the side-by-side A-T-V rolled over on a trail between Chisholm and Buhl Saturday afternoon. Deputies say 31-year-old passenger Kevin Jamnick from Hibbing died at the scene and the driver, 29-year-old Casey Daniels from Chisholm, was treated and released from hospital.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A man is dead after being stabbed multiple times at a part in north Minneapolis party early Sunday. Officers says they found the 31-year-old victim with stab wounds and he was given first aid but later died at North Memorial Hospital. Police say 9-1-1 callers reported screaming during the house party and investigation shows an altercation led to the stabbing. M-P-D says one arrest has been made as of Sunday afternoon.

(St. Paul, MN) — A man is in critical condition after being shot at a St. Paul bus shelter on Sunday. Metro Transit and St. Paul police officers were called to a shooting around 3:30 p.m. Officers located a wounded man who was taken to the hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made.

(Paris, FR) — Anthony Edwards and Team U-S-A topped Serbia 110-84 in the opening game of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The Timberwolves All-Star guard scored 11 points while Kevin Durant led the Americans with 23 and LeBron James added 21 points. N-B-A M-V-P Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets had 20 for Serbia. The U-S team will face South Sudan on Tuesday night.

(Paris, FR) — Minnesota’s Suni Lee, Simone Biles and the U-S women’s gymnastics team are headed to the finals of the Summer Olympics in France. The Americans led all teams in scoring in the qualifying round on Sunday. Biles and Lee will represent the U-S in the individual all-around finals on Tuesday night. The St. Paul native qualified for two events: the balance beam and the uneven bars.
