(Cold Spring, MN) — A man is dead, and a suspect is in custody following a stabbing in Cold Spring. Police say officers responded to a reported assault just after 8:30 Saturday night at a home. They found a man with a critical stab wound and attempted lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene. A man at the residence was arrested and booked into the Stearns County Jail pending charges. Authorities say the victim’s identity will be released later, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

(Grand Rapids, MN) — Two people are dead after a head-on crash in Itasca County on Sunday afternoon. The Minnesota State Patrol says two vehicles collided on Highway 169 near Victory Lane in Harris Township, just south of Grand Rapids, around 12:30 p.m. The drivers, 24-year-old McKenna Christensen of Luck, Wisconsin, and 83-year-old Carole Wiss of Grand Rapids, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say both women were wearing seat belts, and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor. The crash remains under investigation.

(Forest Lake, MN) — Authorities are investigating after a person was found dead inside a burned vehicle in Forest Lake. Firefighters were dispatched just before 11:40 Saturday night to a home on the 100 block of 5th Street Northwest. Crews arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames in the driveway. Once the flames were extinguished, one person was discovered dead inside. The victim has not been identified, and investigators are working to determine what sparked the fire.
