(White Bear Lake, MN) — Master Sergeant Nicole Amor is honored with a memorial stone at the White Bear Lake Veterans Memorial Park. V-F-W Post 1782 Commander Gary Calberg read the inscription on the paver during Monday’s Memorial Day dedication. The stone says, “Master Sergeant Nicole Amor. Adored wife and mother. Served with honor. Loved without limits. Her light lives on. Always in our hearts.” Amor’s husband, Joey, and children were there for the dedication. Master Sergeant Amor was killed in a drone attack on March 1st in Kuwait.

Minneapolis, MN) — Several hundred people gathered Monday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery for Minnesota’s largest Memorial Day ceremony, honoring those who gave their lives while serving the country. Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad Commander Richard Middleton reminded attendees that freedom comes with sacrifice, noting that “some service members return home in draped caskets while others never come home at all.” Middleton also told the crowd that military members answer a higher calling to serve and protect the nation, calling them “heroes who secured the future for generations to come.” U-S Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith also spoke during the ceremony.

(North Mankato, MN) – Authorities are identifying the 17-year-old boy who died of a gunshot wound following a car crash in North Mankato. Officers say Tyson Michael Goodsell died of his injuries in the hospital. Police were called to a vehicle crashing into a town house late Saturday night when they found Goodsell unresponsive. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting incident to call the North Mankato Police Department. Goodsell was a student and football player at Mankato West.

(St. Paul, MN) — Police are investigating the death of a man found lying between railroad tracks on the north side of St. Paul. Officers at the scene late Monday morning said it appeared the man suffered injuries from an edged weapon. Paramedics attempted to treat the victim, but he did not survive. Investigators are working to determine what happened. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will announce the cause and manner of death. This is the fifth homicide of 2026 in St. Paul.
>>Two Injured in Shooting Outside Rochester Bar
(Rochester, MN) — Three people are under arrest after two women were wounded in a shooting outside Rooster’s Barn and Grill Sunday night. Rochester police say officers responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot and found the victims had been taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. A few hours later, officers spotted a vehicle connected to the case in northeast Rochester. Police say the driver tried to flee before officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle. Three people, including the suspected shooter, were taken into custody. The investigation continues.

(Two Harbors, MN) – A state park in northeastern Minnesota is being honored as the best state park in the country. Gooseberry Falls was voted as the nation’s top state park by voters in the U -S-A Today’s Readers Choice Awards. Readers voted from a list of 20 state parks over a four-week period. Minnesota D-N-R Commissioner Sarah Strommen says Gooseberry Falls is an iconic example of incredible natural spaces that make Minnesota a great place to visit and live. Gooseberry Falls was established as a state park in 1937. It has been the most visited state park in Minnesota in seven of the last ten years.

(Chicago, IL) — The Minnesota Twins fell to the White Sox 3-1 in the series opener Monday on the South Side of Chicago. The White Sox snapped the Twins’ four-game winning streak. Brooks Lee did all of Minnesota’s scoring with a home run in the first inning. Starting pitcher Zebby Matthews allowed three runs over six innings for his second loss of the season. All-Star Joe Ryan starts for the Twins tonight (Tues) in the second game of the four-game set.
