(Chanhassen, MN) — The National Weather Service says the snowfall is expected to wind down this morning (Wed) as the system moves out of Minnesota. Forecasters were predicting three to eight inches and Moose Lake received 8.3 inches. Hermantown, Baxter, and Rothsay are reporting seven inches; 6.5 inches fell in Brainerd and Pelican Rapids; there’s 6 in Chokio in Stevens County, 5 inches near Garfield in Douglas County; 4.2 inches at Two Harbors; 3.5 inches in Cloquet; and 3 in Motley. The Twin Cities and southern Minnesota got 1 to 2 inches.

He says strong winds have created dangerous road conditions in several parts of the state.

M-S-P spokesman Jeff Lea say nearly 47 thousand people will likely clear the security checkpoints. He says to be sure to check with your airline before arriving at the airport. Around 49 thousand travelers are expected on return flights Sunday at M-S-P.

(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Tim Walz is weighing in on the federal ban on hemp-based T-H-C products in the bill that ended the government shutdown. The industry and lawmakers are now scrambling before the law takes effect in a year. Walz says he thinks the new rule is very disruptive. The governor told reporters, “We welcome the work that has been done and listening to the folks who are in this, this came out of left field to them and unprepared them for it and I think we’re still trying to understand what that means.” Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith vowed to try and convince their colleagues that this ban is a bad idea and should be reversed.

(Monticello, MN) — The Minnesota B-C-A is investigating a shooting by a Wright County sheriff’s deputy that wounded a man with a knife in Monticello. Authorities responded to the report of a man with a large knife yelling in the street Tuesday night near the Monticello Country Club. The report says the suspect ignored commands to drop the knife and deputies used a Taser but that didn’t stop him. Another deputy fired his gun, striking the man. First aid was administered, and he was taken to North Memorial Hospital in stable condition. The deputies were wearing active body cameras. No one else was injured.
>>Immigrant Advocates Outraged Over Use of Force in St. Paul Raid
(St. Paul, MN) — Immigrant advocates are outraged over what they call excessive force during a federal operation on the East Side of St. Paul Tuesday. The Immigrant Defense Network says more than 200 neighbors gathered peacefully after reports of ICE and Homeland Security agents surrounding a home. Witnesses report tear gas, pepper spray, and rubber rounds were deployed, injuring several people, including at least one person hospitalized. Federal authorities confirmed one person was taken into custody but have not disclosed details. St. Paul officials say they received no advance notice of the operation.

(Edina, MN) — The golf season is likely over in the state following the latest snowfall. Minnesota Golf Association Executive Director Jon Mays says it looks like rounds-played increased again in 2025. Mays said, “We can definitively say that it was a successful golf season.” He notes rounds posted throughout the state across all categories are up. Golfers were able to play well into November again this year in Minnesota. Mays says participation in the sport has been growing in the state since the COVID pandemic.

The Wild are coming off back-to-back shutouts in Pittsburgh Friday night and Winnipeg on Sunday. Jesper Wallstedt made 32 saves in the 3-0 win over the Jets for his third shutout in his last four starts. Filip Gustavsson is expected start in net in Chicago.
