Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman David Hann (HAN) says Trump not only won the electoral college but also the popular vote. He says it’s a pretty clear victory and sends a signal across the country that people are not necessarily very happy with how the Biden administration conducted business in the country and want change. Minnesota Democratic Party Chairman Ken Martin says he’s proud they delivered Minnesota for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, adding, “No matter who holds the White House or Congress, the DFL congressional delegation will be a bulwark for our party’s creed that ‘we all do better when we all do better.”

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota voters are supporting the re-election of their congressional representatives. Republicans Pete Stauber, Michele Fischbach, Tom Emmer, and Brad Finstad were widely re-elected. Democrats Angie Craig and Ilhan Omar were also re-elected. Democratic Congresswoman Betty McCollum led her race against Republican May Lor Xiong by a large margin, while Democrat Kelly Morrison was named the winner to replace Congressman Dean Phillips. Senator Amy Klobuchar beat Republican challenger Royce White 56 percent to 40.

(Mankato, MN) — A southern Minnesota TV station is changing its programming following a layoff of several newsroom employees. Gray Media plans to discontinue local production of morning, noon, and weekend newscasts at KEYC-TV in Mankato. The station will instead use newscasts produced by its sister station, KTTC-TV in Rochester. KEYC staffers will continue to produce the station’s evening news broadcasts. The decision comes after Gray Media reportedly laid off about a dozen KEYC newsroom employees last Friday.

(Preston, MN) — A 33-year-old woman has agreed to a plea deal involving a hit-and-run crash involving an Amish buggy near Spring Valley. Brittany Edgar pleaded guilty to felony criminal vehicular operation for leaving the scene after causing substantial bodily harm. Court documents say Edgar crashed into the back of a buggy in Fillmore County on February 16th before fleeing the scene, leaving seven children and their parents injured. Several of the kids reported serious injuries, including a fractured skull, broken arm, and facial fractures. She will be sentenced next month.

(St. Paul, MN) — A man was seriously injured in a shooting Tuesday night. The man was shot in the head near the State Capitol. St. Paul Police were called after reports of shots fired around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the man unconscious. He was brought to the hospital with serious injuries. The suspect fled the scene, and no arrests have been made yet. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the shooting.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A teen died in an accidental shooting in Minneapolis. The 13-year-old was shot by another teen handling a gun on Tuesday. The 14-year-old boy was handling the gun when it went off. Despite life-saving efforts, the boy was declared dead on the scene. There were two adults and other children in the home at the time of the shooting. The 14-year-old was taken into custody. He is being held at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center and is awaiting possible charges.

(Undated) — The FDA has announced a voluntary recall by Savencia Cheese USA after a possible Listeria contamination. The November 2 recall impacts Aldi stores across Minnesota. Emporium Selection Brie, Supreme Oval, LA Bonne Vie Brie, La Bonne Vie Camembert, Industrial Brie, and Market Basket Brie are involved in the recall. Another November 4th recall included Aldi Emporium Selection Brie and Glenview Farms Spreadable Brie. Listeria can bring on symptoms of diarrhea, high fever, severe headache, stiffness, and nausea.
