>>Klobuchar Cautiously Optimistic About US Supreme Court Tariff Case

(Washington, DC) — Senator Amy Klobuchar is voicing cautious optimism after attending U-S Supreme Court arguments Wednesday on President Trump’s controversial tariffs.  Klobuchar claims they’re hurting American consumers and Minnesota farmers.  She told reporters, “The president has put forth these tariffs that are across the board amount to a $2000 tariff tax on every American family. These tariff taxes that are basically involving many of our best allies like Canada and our small businesses can’t handle this.”  On Truth Social, Trump warned that without the tariffs, the U-S would be “virtually defenseless against other countries who have, for years, taken advantage of us.”

 

>>Federal Flight Reductions Begin Friday Amid Government Shutdown

(Washington, DC) — Federal officials are set to reduce the number of flights in U-S airspace Friday morning due to staffing shortages caused by the federal government shutdown.  F-A-A Administrator Bryan Bedford announced Wednesday that, unless a deal is reached to end the shutdown, the agency will cut air traffic by 10 percent at 40 of the nation’s busiest airports.  The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) says it’s aware of the F-A-A’s plans but has not received specific information about how Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) might be affected.  Travelers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules.

 

>>Final Results Show 62.5 % of School Referendums in Minnesota Passed

(St. Peter, MN) — The Minnesota School Boards Association is reporting 62-and-a-half percent of the school referendums passed on Tuesday.  The final results show just over 53 percent of building bonds were approved, more than 63 percent capital improvement levies passed, and 68 percent of voters supported operating levies. Only 21 districts had school board elections in Minnesota this year.

 

>>3 Suspects Charged in $500K Scheme Targeting Spanish Speaking Immigrants

(Stillwater, MN) — Three suspects are charged in Washington County for a large fraud scheme targeting Spanish-speaking immigrants in local church communities.  Prosecutors say Kira Romero Pinto, Denis Aquino Martinez, and Luis Leiva Aquino are accused of defrauding at least 25 victims of more than 500 thousand dollars.  Court records show they promised immigration legal services, employment, and expedited citizenship through a fake attorney named “Isabella Jason.”  Victims paid thousands in cash and signed contracts never delivered.  They were mainly recruited from churches in Inver Grove Heights and Woodbury.

 

>>Roseville Police Investigate Deaths of 2 People Found in Car

(Roseville, MN) — Police in Roseville are investigating the deaths of two people found in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon near Rosedale mall.  Officers located a man and woman dead from gunshot wounds in the Best Buy parking lot.  A gun was found inside the S-U-V and investigators say no one else is believed to be involved.  The Minnesota B-C-A is helping with the investigation.

 

>>Authorities in Burnsville Search for Man Accused of Child Sexual Abuse

(Burnsville, MN) — The Burnsville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in a child sexual abuse investigation.  Officers say 19-year-old Teodros Pluntz is charged with multiple felonies involving minors and child sexual abuse material.  Investigators say Pluntz met victims through social media and believe there may be more victims.    Anyone with information about Pluntz is urged to contact Burnsville Detective Casey Buck.

 

>>Kasson Brand Named 2025 AURI AG Innovator

(Crookston, MN) — The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) is naming StableFeed its Ag Innovator of the Year.  The Kasson-based company launched in 2017, and creates equine feed using ingredients like sainfoin, berries, and timothy hay to support horse health naturally.  AURI has supported the company since 2018 with product development and manufacturing guidance.  Officials say StableFeed is setting a new standard in the equine supplement industry.

 

>>Knicks Rout Timberwolves in Edwards Return from Hamstring Injury

(New York, NY) — Anthony Edwards was back on the court for the Timberwolves last night, but they got crushed by the Knicks 137-114 at Madison Square Garden.  Minnesota led at halftime before being outscored by New York 83-56 in the third and fourth quarters.  Julius Randle scored a game-high 32 points, Donte DiVincenzo had 21, and Edwards finished with 15.  Ant missed four games with a hamstring injury.  The Wolves are back home Friday night to face the Utah Jazz.
