(Eau Claire, WI) — Governor Tim Walz is back on the campaign trail today (Mon) in neighboring Wisconsin. Walz was in Minnesota over the weekend for the Mankato West vs. Mankato East football game and the Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener near Sleepy Eye. The Democratic vice presidential candidate is attending a political event this afternoon in Eau Claire and will appear in Green Bay at 5 p-m with Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Walz is scheduled to be campaigning Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

(North Mankato, MN) — A new partnership allows South Central College students to get a four-year degree at the new Minnesota State University-Mankato School of Applied Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. S-C-C vice president of academic affairs Laura Attenberger says students who complete an associate of applied science in agribusiness at South Central College can then seamlessly transfer to MSU-Mankato and earn a bachelor’s of applied science degree in agronomy. Attenberger says students previously had to transfer out of state to schools like South Dakota State and Wisconsin-River Falls. MSU-Mankato officially launched its new agriculture program last week, but some students are enrolled this fall.

(Rogers, MN) — Authorities in northwest Hennepin County are investigating a deadly house fire Sunday evening in Rogers. Fire officials say one person was found dead inside the home while crews were battling the flames. Two Rogers firefighters suffered minor injuries, and one is being treated at North Memorial Hospital. Investigators are still trying to find the cause.

(Eveleth, MN) — Authorities on the Iron Range say a man did not survive life-threatening injuries suffered in a house fire near Eveleth. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says 63-year-old Dale Wallander died in a Twin Cites hospital. Deputies found Wallander lying at the end of his driveway with burns over most of his body early Friday afternoon. His home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is helping local investigators determine the cause of the fire.

.(Moorhead, MN) — Authorities in Moorhead say they recovered the body of a man Sunday afternoon from the Red River. Police and firefighters were called to the Midtown Dam and the body was later pulled to shore. No other information is being released. Officers say the man’s death is still under investigation.

(Detroit Lakes, MN) — A man from Minneapolis is the victim of a fatal A-T-V crash near Park Rapids in Becker County. Sheriff’s officials say 48-year-old Jeremy Mickelson went off the road while going around a corner and crashed Saturday in Wolf Lake Township. First responders tried to save him, but Mickelson died at the scene. Deputies are still looking into the incident.

(St. Paul, MN) — A man is dead after a stabbing Friday night in St. Paul. Officers found a man lying in the parking lot of a gas station with stabbing injuries. They say the victim was brought to Regions Hospital where he died. A suspect was arrested at the scene. Investigators learned the victim and suspect got into an altercation inside a store before the stabbing. The Ramey County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victim.

(Foley, MN) — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says two people are critically injured after a shooting near Foley. Deputies called to a home in Gilmanton Township Sunday afternoon located one man with a gunshot wound to the neck and another man who had been shot in the abdomen. Investigators say both victims were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital in critical condition. The suspect was arrested without incident and booked in jail. Officers say there is no further danger to the community.

(Ely, MN) — Two hikers are safe after the St. Louis County Rescue Team found them at Bear Head State Park Saturday near Ely. A hiker called 9-1-1 after 6 p-m , needing help getting out of the woods. Poor cell coverage made for no contact between deputies and the hiker. The county dispatch center used the caller’s G-P-S coordinates to send deputies to their location. Rescue squad members walked the hikers out of the woods, who they learned were unfamiliar with the area.

(Brooklyn, NY) — The W-N-B-A Finals are tied at one game each after New York beat Minnesota 80-66 Sunday in Brooklyn. The Lynx nearly rallied back from a 17-point deficit late in the fourth quarter before the Liberty went on a 16-2 run to seal the victory. Napheesa Collier led Minnesota with 16 points and eight rebounds and Courtney Williams scored 15 and had eight assists. Game 3 of the best-of-five series is Wednesday night at Target Center and Game 4 is Friday in Minneapolis.
