Fravel is charged in the spring 2023 disappearance and death of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children. The attorneys presented their opening arguments in Fravel’s murder trial Thursday in Mankato. Prosecutors accused Fravel of having an abusive relationship with Kingsbury and noted that objects found with her body were removed from the home they shared in Winona. The defense claims that the police had tunnel vision and went to great lengths to portray Fravel as their prime suspect. Several witnesses testified for the prosecution yesterday, and more will do so today.

(Brookston, MN) — Authorities in northeastern Minnesota say they recovered the body of a woman reported missing on the Fond du Lac Reservation. The St. Louis County Rescue Squad found 51-year-old Nori Pribble dead Thursday afternoon in Brookston. Investigators do not believe Pribble’s death was a result of foul play. Fond du Lac police said Pribble’s family last heard from her on Sunday.

(Washington City, UT) — An arrest in southern Utah connected to a pharmacy burglary in Minnesota. Police officers pulled over a vehicle for making a lane violation on Interstate 15 South in Washington City yesterday. Officers searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana and found cardboard boxes filled with Schedule Five controlled substances. Police later learned that the DEA in Minnesota was investigating a pharmacy burglary involving the same suspect vehicle. The driver and the passenger are held without bail at a southern Utah jail.

(Duluth, MN) — State officials say an Italian paper company is planning a 200-million-dollar expansion of its facility in Duluth, which will create 160 new jobs. Governor Walz’s office says Sofidel (SOH’-fee-dell) received five million dollars in business expansion funding through the Department of Employment and Economic Development. Sofidel is expanding its Duluth plant by 60 thousand square feet to make, process, and package paper towels, bath tissues, and napkins.

(Lincoln, NE) — Drought conditions are worsening in Minnesota as we move into late October. The new U-S Drought Monitor map shows more than 71 percent of the state is in a moderate drought and 28 percent in a severe drought. Ninety-seven percent of Minnesota is now considered abnormally dry. The driest areas are in northeast and north central Minnesota and the state’s southwest corner.
