(Minneapolis, MN) — Organizers are reporting large turnouts at dozens of “No Kings” rallies across Minnesota. An estimated 100 thousand people took part in the protest and march Saturday in downtown Minneapolis. They were chanting things like “hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go,” and “no kings, no Trump.” Attorney General Keith Ellison told the crowd he will be arguing against Trump’s tariffs November 5th in front of the U-S Supreme Court, “saying these tariffs are illegal and wrong and the destruction of Minnesota’s soybean farmers must stop now.” Minnesota soybean farmers have reportedly lost two billion in dollars in sales due mainly to tariffs on China. Republican leaders said the “No Kings” protests were “hate-America” rallies.

(St. Paul, MN) – State lawmakers continue to cover lots of Minnesota miles looking at future bonding projects around the state. This week the House Capital Investment Committee will hold their third tour with this trip covering communities in central and southwest Minnesota . The three-day tour will visit cities like Hutchinson, Marshall, New Ulm and include parts of the metro including Chaska, Shakopee, and Burnsville. The purpose of these tours is to hear presentations and funding requests from community officials on potential infrastructure projects.

(Superior, WI) — The Minnesota and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation are hosting a public meeting this evening in Superior (Mon 5pm) on the Blatnik Bridge project. It’s expected to cost around 1.8 billion dollars to replace the 64-year-old bridge in Duluth that connects Minnesota to Wisconsin. MnDOT and WisDOT officials will give a presentation and answer questions about the Blatnik Bridge project. Phased in construction is expected to begin next year with complete bridge closure for four to five years. Former President Joe Biden announced over one-billion dollars in funding for the project during a stop in January of 2024.

(Apple Valley, MN) — The St. Cloud Police Department says Officer Ryan Ebert died from injuries sustained in a crash last Monday night in Apple Valley. Forty-four-year-old Ebert was off duty when his pickup collided with a transit bus and struck a cable barrier. He was taken to H-C-M-C with life-threatening injuries and died Saturday morning surrounded by loved ones. Chief Jeff Oxton says Ebert’s 18 years of service will be remembered, and his final act of organ donation reflects his lifelong commitment to helping others. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his family.

(Cushing, MN) — Authorities in Todd County say two people are being treated for serious burns suffered in a campfire explosion Saturday night near Cushing. Sheriff’s officials say 34-year-old Nathaniel Larson was using a gas can to ignite the fire when the container caught fire and exploded. Sixty-five-year-old Jody Larson was near the fire and was airlifted to a hospital with severe burns. Nathaniel Larson was taken to a Staples hospital with serious burns to his hands. Investigators are still looking into the incident.

(Parkers Prairie, MN) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash Sunday in Otter Tail County. The report says a 45-year-old Miltona man was riding on Highway 29 when he collided with a mini-van pulling into a driveway and another car. The unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene. Troopers say more information about the crash will be released this afternoon (Mon).

(Richfield, MN) — The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the body of a woman found in a Richfield lake. Police received a report Saturday morning about a body floating in Wood Lake. First responders arrived and recovered the body of an unidentified female. The incident remains under investigation.
>>St. Cloud Man Killed, Two Teens Injured in Pickup Crash near Foley
(Foley, MN) — A St. Cloud man is the victim of a deadly crash Saturday night near Foley. The Minnesota State Patrol reports a pickup driven by 64-year-old Edward Hindermann collided head-on with another pickup on Highway 23. Troopers say Hindermann died at the scene. The 17-year-old girl from Fosston driving the other truck and her passenger – 18-year-old Rhianna Kanyetzny of Oak Park – were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The report shows the roadway was dry and that alcohol was not involved.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings are 3-and-3 following a 28-22 loss to the 5-and-2 Philadelphia Eagles Sunday at U-S Bank Stadium. Jordan Mason scored Minnesota’s lone touchdown on a one-yard run in third quarter and kicker Will Reichard made five field goals. Carson Wentz completed 26 passes for 313 yards and threw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. A fourth quarter T-D by T-J Hockenson was overturned after replay officials said it hit the ground. The Vikings play the 4-and-3 Chargers Thursday night in Los Angeles.
