>>Analyst says Presidential Campaigns Should Be Focusing on Mobilizing Voters

(St. Paul, MN) —  Political analysts say the Trump-Vance and Harris-Walz campaigns should be focused on mobilizing voters two weeks before the November election.  Hamline University Professor David Schultz says they already have the support of their base.  He says, “It’s not just throwing the big rallies because both sides are excited. It’s now contacting these people again and saying do know where to go vote? Do you know how to vote.?” Former President Barack Obama is appearing at a campaign event Tuesday in Madison, Wisconsin with Governor Tim Walz.  Republican vice presidential candidate J-D Vance held what he called a “faith” rally Sunday in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

 

>>Female Victim Fatally Shot in St. Paul, Carjacking in Same Neighborhood

(St. Paul, MN) — Police in St. Paul believe that the fatal shooting of a woman and an armed carjacking on Saturday night may be related.  Officers found the female victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a North End apartment and paramedics were unable to save her.  Authorities were also called to a carjacking in the neighborhood where a victim was shot and the suspect fled in their vehicle.  The second victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Investigators say preliminary information suggests these two crimes are related.

 

>>Minnesota City Woman Killed in Winona County Motorcycle Crash

(Dakota, MN) — A southeast Minnesota woman is the victim of deadly motorcycle crash in Winona County.  The State Patrol said 64-year-old Marsha Durham of Minnesota City lost control of her cycle on the Highway 61 ramp to Interstate 90 Saturday and crashed into the center median.  The report says alcohol was not involved and Durham wasn’t wearing a helmet.

 

>>Man Injured in ATV vs. Deer Crash in Northeastern Minnesota

(Alango, MN) — A man is recovering from injuries suffered in an A-T-V vs. deer crash Saturday near Cook in northeastern Minnesota.  St. Louis County sheriff’s deputies say the A-T-V was going about 30 miles per hour when a deer ran into the road.  The report says the A-T-V flipped after striking the deer and the driver was thrown from the machine.  He was airlifted to a Duluth hospital with possible internal injuries.

 

>>1 Dead After Fight Leads to Gunfire Following Party in Minneapolis

(Minneapolis, MN) — A man is dead after a fight that escalated into a shooting following a party in north Minneapolis Saturday.  Police found a man with life-threatening injuries who died at the scene.  Investigators learned a fight broke out at a nearby party, spilling into the street and resulting in gunfire.  A man still fighting and refusing to leave was arrested for disorderly conduct.  The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the man and cause of death.

 

>>St. Paul Police Search for Missing, Endangered Teen

(St. Paul, MN) — Police in St. Paul are asking for the public’s help finding a missing endangered teen.  Officers say 19-year-old Jae’Shaun Murray was last seen leaving school on October 15th around 3:30 p-m in St. Paul.  He’s known to use public transportation.  Jae’Shaun is described as Black, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 248 pounds, and has black hair.

 

>>New York Liberty Top Minnesota Lynx in OT to Win WNBA Finals

(Brooklyn, NY) — The New York Liberty are the 2024 W-N-B-A champions after beating the Minnesota Lynx 67-62 in overtime in Game 5 of the Finals in Brooklyn.  Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve was not happy with the officiating Sunday night.  She blasted the refs for a foul on New York’s Brenna Stewart with five seconds remaining in regulation that resulted in the game-tying free-throws.  Reeve challenged what appeared to be traveling by Stewart and a block by Alanna Smith, but the call was not overturned.  The Liberty had 25 free-throw attempts while Minnesota only had eight.  Napheesa Collier finished with 22 points but never shot a free throw.  Kayla McBride added 21 for Minnesota in the loss.

 

>>Undefeated Vikings Lose to Lions at US Bank Stadium

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings fall to 5-and-1 after a 31-29 loss to the Detroit Lions Sunday at U-S Bank Stadium.  Detroit’s Jake Bates kicked the game-winning field goal with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter.  The Vikings had a late 29-28 lead on a 35-yard fumble return touchdown by Ivan Pace but punted the ball back to the Lions with just over two minutes remaining.  Sam Darnold threw for 259 yards, a touchdown to Justin Jefferson, and an interception.  The Vikings play the Rams Thursday night in Los Angeles.
