Authorities were called to a report of shots fired and a suspect with a gun in the Midway neighborhood. Investigators say the man pointed the gun at his head, refused to put it down, and was shot after pointing his gun at officers. The B-C-A says officers provided medical aid and the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. All the officers at the scene were wearing body cameras and have been placed on administrative leave.

(White Earth, MN) — A White Earth man is jailed in Becker County after allegedly threatening to shoot sheriff’s deputies who came to his home Sunday night. Authorities say 50-year-old Robert Azure was wanted on felony and misdemeanor warrants and locked himself in a bedroom when they tried to arrest him. They say he made threatening statements to shoot deputies, but later came out voluntarily and was taken into custody. He was booked on warrants for felony drug possession and burglary and violating a domestic no-contact order.

(Rochester, MN) — The sentence is five years in prison for a Rochester man convicted in a fatal shooting outside a local shopping mall in February. Twenty-year-old Isaac Gutierrez was found guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death 24-year-old Osbel Orneals. Investigators said that Gutierrez shot Orneals in the back of the head during a dispute over a parking space. Gutierrez’s brother was fighting with the victim at the time.
