(Northfield, MN) — Donald Trump and Kamala Harris both campaigned in neighboring Wisconsin yesterday (Wed) and they’ll both be in Milwaukee on Friday. But Carleton College analyst Steven Schier says for the Gopher State, “as far as we know in their schedules, they’re not appearing in Minnesota, which suggests that Harris definitely has the advantage.” Schier says every poll this election season has shown Harris ahead of Trump in Minnesota — with margins from three to eight percent. He says if either Trump or Harris thought Minnesota was one of their top opportunities, at least one of them would be coming here in the last week of the campaign. He adds Democrats’ vice-presidential candidate, Governor Tim Walz, has no plans to be in Minnesota in the remaining days of the campaign.

(Bucks County, PA) — Democratic vice-presidential candidate, Governor Tim Walz, campaigns in swing-state Pennsylvania today (Thurs) after hitting battleground North Carolina on Wednesday — less than a week before the election. Walz appeared on morning national news programs, plus told comedian and radio show host Rickey Smiley that opponent Donald Trump, “calling us ‘enemies from within.’ Talking about using the military; talking about weaponizing the Department of Justice to arrest people just ’cause they disagree with him.” Meanwhile, at a North Carolina rally for Trump, Minnesota Congressman Tom Emmer called Walz Vice President Kamala Harris’s “emotional support animal” and a “really glib talker” with “jazz hands.”

(Eagan, MN) — The state of Minnesota is awarding nearly 13 million dollars in funding to 3M health care spinoff Solventum’s 209-million-dollar expansion in Eagan. Governor Walz’s office says Solventum’s move from the 3Ms Maplewood campus to the former Blue Cross Blue Shield building will retain two thousand Minnesota jobs. C-E-O Bryan Hanson said Minnesota’s support was instrumental in their decision to reinvest in the Twin Cities area. Solventum expects to be in its new location by early 2026.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A federal judge is dismissing a civil lawsuit filed by the family of Ricky Cobb II against Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Londregan for his fatal shooting. U-S District Judge Nancy Brasel granted Londregan’s motion to dismiss, saying he acted “reasonably” when he shot Cobb who was trying to pull away from a traffic stop on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis in July 2023. Cobb’s family sued Londregan and Trooper Brett Seide alleging unreasonable seizure and use of force. Hennepin County prosecutors dismissed murder and manslaughter charges against Londregan in June.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said it provides an opportunity for people of all faiths to gather and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He says it also serves as a visible reminder of support to those family members who have been left behind. Ten law enforcement officers from Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin were honored during the service. Minneapolis Police Officer Jamal Mitchell was fatally shot in May and Burnsville Officers Matthew Ruge, Paul Elmstrand and Paramedic/Firefighter Adam Finseth were killed by a gunman in February.

(Mankato, MN) — Prosecutors in the Adam Fravel murder trial could rest their case today (Thurs) in Blue Earth County. The prosecution plans to call one more witness before Fravel’s lawyers present their defense. Friends of Madeline Kingsbury testified about Fravel’s alleged abuse Wednesday, noting she had red marks on her neck following a domestic violence incident. Fravel is charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children last year. Kingsbury’s body was found two months after she disappeared in Winona in late March. Closing arguments are expected as soon as Monday.

(Menomonie, WI) — A St. Paul man is facing 50 years in a Wisconsin prison for dumping four bodies in Dunn County after their murders in 2021. A jury convicted Darren Osborne on Wednesday of helping hide the bodies of four people killed by his son, Antoine Suggs. Investigators said the victims were shot by Suggs in St. Paul and their bodies were found inside an S-U-V in a cornfield. Suggs is serving 101 years in prison. Osborne will learn his sentence in December.

(Anoka, MN) — A 19-year-old man is in custody after stabbing a student with a screwdriver at Anoka Technical College. Police say the victim was stabbed in the hand Tuesday afternoon and treated at a local hospital. The suspect was arrested at the scene. No other information is being released.
