(French Township, MN) — Authorities in northeastern Minnesota are still investigating a campfire explosion near Hibbing that left one man dead and eight others injured. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said an unknown flammable liquid was used to start the fire Friday night, and the explosion and flames caused burn and inhalation injuries to the victims. Deputies say 53-year-old Marvin Theisen of Hibbing died at the scene, and a 14-year-old girl from Saginaw was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital with serious burns. The others injured are Roxanne Thiesen of Hibbing, Honey Thiesen from Kelliher, Melissa Krogseng of Kelliher, Jenette Peasley from Blackduck, Hanna Larson of International Falls, and Raymond Poxleitner from Kelliher.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 81-year-old Noel Alan Ludke was riding east on Highway 30 on Saturday when his bike left the road and crashed into a ditch. He died from injuries received in the crash, which is still being investigated.

(Minneapolis, MN) — One man is dead, another injured, after a shooting in central Minneapolis Saturday. Officers responded to a shooting in Uptown around 10:47 p.m., finding a man in his 20s with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving aid, the man died at the scene. Another man in his 20s with at least one life-threatening gunshot wound was brought to Hennepin Healthcare. Investigators learned the men were part of a group walking on the sidewalk when shots were fired. Possible suspects were seen fleeing on foot. No arrests have been made. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the man and cause of death.

(Burnsville, MN) — Four people were injured in a shooting at Burnsville’s Red Oak Park Friday. Police responded to 911 calls of shots fired around 8:14 p.m. at the large, 36-acre park. Four victims were found, three of whom were brought to local hospitals, and one was treated and released at the scene. The victims’ status’ is unknown. Officers immediately secured the area to search for suspects, several of whom reported having fled. No arrests have been made. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the BPD.

She also won gold in the same event at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021. It was also her first medal since becoming a mom nearly a year and a half ago. The Eagan native will be in the pool again on Thursday to compete in the 50-meter freestyle.
