(St. Louis Park, MN) — A St. Louis Park man is now charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and nine counts of criminal vehicular operation for causing a fatal wreck at the Park Tavern Sunday night. Prosecutors say Steven Bailey’s blood alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit when he plowed his S-U-V into a crowded bar patio, killing server Kristina Folkerts and Methodist Hospital employee Gabe Harvey, as well as injuring nine others. Bailey is jailed on one million dollars bail and has his first court appearance afternoon. (WED). Minnesota court records show Bailey has at least two previous drunken-driving convictions.

(Winona, MN) — The pre-trial hearing for the man accused of killing Madeline Kingsbury continues today (Wed) in Winona County. Prosecutors called several members of Kingsbury’s family to the stand Tuesday to ask questions about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Adam Fravel. The questions focused on whether Fravel may have abused Kingsbury and if the end of their relationship may have led to her death. Kingsbury disappeared last year, and her body was found several weeks later in Fillmore County. Fravel’s murder trial is scheduled to start October 7th in Mankato.

(St. Paul, MN) — New research from the Minnesota Hospital Association suggests there’s some improvement in the state’s nursing shortage. C-E-O Rahul Koranne says we still have ways to, but the data show the hospital workforce is making a turnaround from the pandemic. He says, “last year Minnesota hired more 53 hundred nurses and nurses’ vacancies fell significantly for the first time since the pandemic.” Doctor Koranne says nurse vacancy rates are three percent higher in rural Minnesota hospitals. He also says more nurses are choosing to work a part-time schedule.

(Moorhead, MN) — The White Earth Nation is currently renovating a building in Moorhead with the hope of opening an adult-use cannabis dispensary. The Native American tribe is negotiating with the state to reach an agreement allowing them to open dispensaries outside their reservation. The tribe is remodeling a former restaurant in Moorhead, aiming to open it as a dispensary once they receive state approval. The White Earth Nation already operates a dispensary near the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen.

(Montevideo, MN) — Authorities in Chippewa County are investigating a stabbing incident early on Labor Day that left three people injured in Montevideo. Officers called to a fight at a bar found man a unconscious lying in the street with a stab wound. The victim was taken to C-C-M Health in Montevideo and later airlifted to another hospital. Police say two other men showed up at the hospital with laceration wounds and one of them was transferred to a larger medical facility. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the stabbings to contact the Montevideo Police Department.

(Sebeka, MN) – Two boys are hospitalized in Fargo with injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in Wadena County Monday afternoon. The sheriff’s office says the boys were riding side by side when they collided. First responders called for two helicopters due to the severity of the injuries. Deputies say one of the boys was wearing a helmet and one was not.

Hormel says it plans to start selling Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon on September 16th. The new product will combine the cinnamon coating from Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal with Hormel’s Black Label Bacon. Cinamon Toast Crunch Bacon will be sold at selected Walmart and Kroger stores.
