Mother, accomplice in court today for taking child from custodial father

A Coon Rapids woman and her accomplice from Saint Paul are each charged with burglary for abducting her five-year-old daughter from the custodial father’s home in south Minneapolis. 28-year-old Serenity Jones and 58-year-old Dennis Brann have first court appearances today. Prosecutors say the two forced open the front door, Jones grabbed her daughter and they fled. The child’s father says earlier this month Jones refused to return their daughter after weekend visitation and he had to call Coon Rapids police to get her back.
