A 42-year-old Minneapolis Police Officer is charged with 2nd degree assault after firing his gun into a vehicle full of people last fall. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says Officer Efrem Hamilton was off-duty when he responded to a call of “shots fired” at the scene of a fight downtown on November 19th. Hamilton is accused of firing a shot into a vehicle after the vehicle accidentally backed into his car. No one was hurt, but the six people inside the car later filed complaints against the officer. Hamilton has been relieved of duty while an investigation has been ongoing.
