A first court appearance Thursday for a Minneapolis man, 51-year-old Jerry Curry, accused of beating his developmentally-disabled twin daughters, sexually assaulting them and chaining them as captives. Police are looking for the mother, 48-year-old Shelia Wilson, who’s charged with child neglect. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman calls the case “as repugnant and horrifying as anything I have seen in my 18 years as county attorney.” Authorities say the man was upset one of the twins had become sexually active and felt they were eating too much. The charges and a protective order against the suspect reveal he fathered two children by one of the twins who are now in their early 20’s. Last May one of the twins escaped to alert authorities.
