The death of 31-year-old Thurmon Blevins has been ruled a homicide–the result of multiple gunshot wounds. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey is calling for the BCA to release any information from their investigation as soon as possible. In the meantime, Frey says he full recognizes “that there’s a whole lot of pain and hurt out there, and I want to offer words that are going to ease that pain, knowing that people in every neighborhood in our entire city are hurting, but at the same time I must recognize that whatever words I come up with are going to fall short. “Frey is calling for transparency in the investigation. Blevins was shot by police in north Minneapolis early Saturday evening after 9-1-1 calls came in reporting someone firing a handgun. Police were wearing body cameras and the Minneapolis city council is asking the BCA to release that footage as soon as possible.
