Some fairly “respectable” — if that’s the word you want to use — snow totals in some parts of Minnesota as winter starts to tighten its grip. As of this morning (Wed) five inches were on the ground at Stewartville, four inches in Austin, about the same in Rochester and Rushford, and about two inches in Zumbrota and Caledonia. The far south metro got between an inch-and-a-half and about three inches. The Weather Service says highs in the mid 20s to low 30s today, sunny and a bit colder tomorrow, but quite a bit warmer Friday and Saturday with highs in the 40s in southwest Minnesota. But a lot colder Sunday, with highs only in the teens north, mid 20s to low 30s south.
