Authorities have released the name of the North Carolina man shot and killed by officers in Chisago County Monday morning after a carjacking. The medical examiner says 39-year-old Gregory Thrower died of multiple gunshot wounds. Seven officers who fired their weapons during the incident are on standard administrative leave. Investigators say Thrower had his seven-year-old daughter with him when he carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint in North Branch after a failed first attempt. The girl was not injured. It’s not clear what caused officers to open fire on the suspect, but authorities did say they had received potential suicide threats from Thrower.
