SNAP Exec. Dir. David Clohessy

The national group Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests is blasting Catholic Church officials for allowing former Archbishop John Nienstedt (NINE-sted) to move to a parish in Michigan. SNAP Executive Director David Clohessy says Minnesota and Michigan Catholic officials are sending a very disturbing signal.  Clohessy says, “They’re essentially saying, no matter how much harm you cause or ignore or conceal, by golly we’ll always have a job for you here in the Catholic Church.”  Archdiocese officials have not commented. Nienstedt resigned last summer after prosecutors filed criminal charges alleging Minnesota church officials did not protect children from clergy sex abuse.
